Bio

"Isn't this a hoot!?"

Perky, peppy, and disgustingly optimistic, Corky's only been with the famous FYI team for about a year. She's early to bed, early to rise, and first to criticize your fashion sense. During the 1982 Miss America pageant, Corky wowed the country with her riveting closet organization skills, and won the crown (by default, but she happily ignores that). But before she even went out on stage, she picked up a TV Guide and ran across an article about the one and only Murphy Brown. It was then that she decided she wanted to be a journalist, and when Murphy went to Betty Ford, Corky was hired as her temporary replacement. She didn't have any journalistic background, but she definitely helped bring in the ratings, and so she became a permanent part of the show. She may not always be the brightest crayon in the box, and her stories may all be fluff, but underneath it all is a smart, capable, and determined person who believes that anyone can do anything as long as they apply themselves. Happy is certainly what she is most of the time, but she's been known to lose her cool and fly into rages every now and then. Despite her success, and despite the fact that her mother always told her that it was impossible to "have it all", she still dreams of finding that special someone and raising a happy, healthy family.

Current Canon:

Corky is currently set in season 2, after "Buddies Schmuddies" and before "Whose Garbage is it Anyway?". Technically the year should be 1989, but hello, bendy time!

As for TM canon, she's a fan of "Flight of the Conchords" and the tear-jerker stories of

laura_muse. She recently interviewed

freaking_gob for a story on teen pregnancy, and often debates the values of fidelity with

tm_northstar and

mutantwatch. She also may or may not be a little confused as to the sexuality of

will_porter. Then again, she hasn't tried The Heel Test on him yet.
